Valve lapping
A process that polishes the valves with extremely fine ‘lapping compound’. It results in valves being smoother, quieter and gives a faster action.

Chemical descaling
A chemical wash of the instrument’s internals to remove mineral
deposits – this prevents valves and slides from sticking. Recommended annually
